How Do I Get My Prescription
To ensure you get the perfect pair of glasses tailored to your vision needs, follow these steps on how to obtain your prescription.
Step 1: Visit a Qualified Professional
Wearfumbo does not offer eye testing services. Therefore, it is crucial to visit either an ophthalmologist or an optometrist for a comprehensive eye examination. These healthcare professionals are trained to assess your vision accuracy and detect any potential eye health issues.
Step 2: Request Your Prescription
By law, your ophthalmologist or optometrist is obligated to provide you with a copy of your prescription after the eye examination. If they do not offer it spontaneously, kindly request it. This document is vital as it contains your specific lens power, cylinder, and axis measurements, which are crucial for making your glasses.
Step 3: Include Pupillary Distance (PD) Measurement
While not always included in the prescription, the pupillary distance (PD) is a critical measurement for customizing your glasses. PD is the distance between the centers of your pupils, measured in millimeters. It ensures that the optical centers of your lenses align with your pupils, providing you with clear and comfortable vision. Kindly ask your doctor to measure and record your PD on your prescription.
